Our Story
At Corvus Watch Straps, we have made available again the original NATO-style G-10 watch straps made in Britain by Phoenix® Straps Ltd, the original supplier of these straps to the British Ministry of Defense since 1978 and the sole supplier of our exclusive Real Bond strap. These are new old stock straps in perfect condition and supplies are very limited.

No, unlike virtually every other NATO-style watchstrap, ours were made in the UK by Phoenix Straps Ltd from fabric woven in UK mills. Our rubber straps are made in Vincenza, Italy by Bonetto Cinturini.

No, not at this time. We're very sorry, but tariffs and variable postage costs make it impossible for us to currently handle international orders. For UK buyers, some NATO styles are available directly from Phoenix Straps through their eBay store, username "phoenixstraps."
When we designed and had the original "Real Bond NATO" watch strap in 2009, it was quickly copied by a number of sellers who had knock-offs made in China. We have examined many of these, and they all are inferior in quality or color. Corvus Watch Straps is the only source for original, genuine Real Bond watch straps in either the NATO or the Movie versions.

In short, in the 1980s, the author of an article in the UK edition of Esquire wrote an article about James Bond's movie watches and concluded--mistakenly--from poor quality VHS tapes that the nylon strap worn by Sean Connery in Thunderball and Goldfinger was a grey and black stripe. NATO G-10 style straps were then manufactured by Phoenix Straps Ltd in the UK and became hugely popular as the "Bond NATO" strap. They were of excellent quality and had a great look. They were also widely copied and quickly became available in Chinese knock-off versions. We like the original Phoenix ones very much and recommend them, though we have never sold them. They are still available from Phoenix through the phoenixstraps eBay store.
Not really. The owner has been winding down his business for several years and is selling off his remaining stock through his eBay phoenixstraps store. He never sold retail except to a very limited extent on eBay from time to time. A new company uses the Phoenix name to sell similar watch straps of unknown origin through a flashy web-based store. They seem to be located in Japan. They are unaffiliated with the original Phoenix Straps Ltd and should be considered unauthorized sellers of counterfeit items. See our blog for more information.
